Ingredients
SugarReset Other Ingredients: Glycerin, Stevia, Xylitol and More
Besides chromium and the 22-name blend, the label lists nine other ingredients: glycerin, water, organic lemon extract, stevia extract 97% (Reb A), xylitol, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate, citric acid and natural flavors. They form the liquid base, sweeten it and keep it fresh. None is listed with an amount.

The list01
What are the other ingredients?
Nine items in label order, from the most to the least by weight, as the rules for other ingredients require.
| Ingredient | What it does | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| Glycerin | A sweet, syrupy liquid base | Plant or animal derived; ask if you avoid animal products |
| Water | The main liquid | Preservatives are needed because water supports growth |
| Organic lemon extract | Flavor | Citrus; an allergy is rare |
| Stevia extract 97% (Reb A) | A zero-calorie sweetener | Rebaudioside A from the stevia leaf |
| Xylitol | A sugar alcohol sweetener | Can upset the stomach; toxic to dogs |
| Sodium benzoate | A preservative | Common in drinks and drops |
| Potassium sorbate | A preservative | Common in food and cosmetics |
| Citric acid | Acidity and taste | Also helps preservatives work |
| Natural flavors | Flavor | Not broken down on the label |
Listing in order of weight means glycerin is the largest of the nine and natural flavors the smallest. The label does not print a sugar amount, and we do not state one.
Sweeteners02
What do stevia and xylitol add?
Sweetness without sugar. A liquid supplement with 22 plant and amino acid names would taste bitter without it.
Stevia extract with 97 percent rebaudioside A is much sweeter than sugar and has no calories at the amounts used. Xylitol is a sugar alcohol with fewer calories than sugar, and large amounts can cause gas and loose stools. Neither is part of the formula in the sense of an active ingredient. They are there for taste.
For a person with diabetes the question is the total effect on glucose, which for these amounts is likely to be small. We cannot say more, because the label gives no amounts. If you monitor your glucose closely, note it in your log when you start.
The base03
Why is glycerin the base?
Glycerin is a thick, mildly sweet liquid that dissolves many plant compounds and keeps a liquid blend stable.
It is the first of the nine, so it is the largest by weight. Food and supplement makers use it to carry flavors and extracts, to keep a liquid from drying on the dropper and to add body. Glycerin is generally well tolerated, although large amounts can cause headache or stomach upset. A 1 ml serving holds a small amount, so this is unlikely to matter for most adults.
The label does not say whether the glycerin is vegetable or animal in origin, and it does not give the share of water to glycerin, so the strength of the base is also unknown. Vegetable glycerin is the common form in supplements, but a person who avoids animal products should ask to be sure.
Glucose angle04
Do the other ingredients matter for glucose?
Probably not much at these amounts, but a person who watches glucose closely should know what is in the base.
Glycerin has little effect on glucose. Stevia has been studied for glucose, with mixed and small results, and is generally regarded as having a negligible direct effect. Xylitol is absorbed slowly and has a low glycemic effect compared with sugar, though large amounts can still cause digestive upset. The amounts in 1 or 2 ml are not printed, so we cannot do the sums.
If you test your glucose often, try the drops on a day with steady meals, write down your readings and share the log with your care team. Do not change meals or medicines to test the product.
Pets and children05
Why mention dogs and children?
Xylitol is toxic to dogs even in small amounts, and any supplement bottle is a risk around young children.
Even small amounts of xylitol can cause a dangerous drop in a dog's glucose and liver injury. If a pet drinks the liquid, call a veterinarian or a pet poison line at once. Keep the bottle in a cabinet out of reach. The label says to keep it out of the reach of children, and a sweet liquid with a dropper is attractive to a toddler.
Call Poison Help at 1-800-222-1222 in the United States, or call 911 if the child is unwell. Have the bottle with you.

See packsPreservatives06
Why are there two preservatives?
A water-based liquid that you open daily would grow mold and bacteria without them.
Sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate are used in many drinks and liquid medicines and are generally recognized as safe at normal levels. Some people who are sensitive to benzoates notice hives or asthma. If you are one of them, ask the seller before use. Sodium benzoate can form benzene in the presence of vitamin C and heat, which is a reason to store the bottle cool and away from sunlight, as the label says.
A clean dropper matters too. Do not touch the dropper to your mouth, and wipe it before closing the bottle.
Allergies and diets07
Who should check these ingredients?
People with allergies, those who avoid animal products and anyone who follows a medical diet.
- Glycerin: ask if the source is plant or animal if that matters to you.
- Natural flavors: not broken down; ask the seller if you have a serious allergy.
- Xylitol: stomach upset in some; dangerous for dogs.
- Benzoates: hives or wheeze in sensitive people.
- Stevia: rare allergy, mostly in people allergic to related plants such as ragweed.
A pharmacist can check an allergy history against the whole list. The label does not print an allergen statement that we can read, so ask the seller for one.
Not on the label08
What is not in the other ingredients?
The label lists no artificial colors, no gelatin and no gluten ingredient among the other ingredients.
That is not the same as saying the product is free of those things. A statement of gluten-free or vegan status needs a claim and, ideally, a test. The label makes none that we can read, so we do not say it. If you need to avoid gluten or animal products, ask the seller in writing.
A label is a document with legal weight, so what is printed is what we can trust. What is silent is a question to ask. Good questions to send the seller in writing are: is it gluten free, is it free of the major allergens, is the glycerin plant derived and is the product tested for each. Save the replies together with your order ID so you can show them to a clinician later if a reaction ever occurs.
If you have a food allergy or a sensitivity, take this list to the retailer and ask about each item in writing. Keep the reply with your order record, and stop using the drops if you notice any reaction after the first doses.
