Standards

SugarReset Editorial Standards: Sources, Claims and Corrections

Quick answer

We write from the label and from named public sources, we quote sales claims without repeating them, we show no fake or unverifiable reviews, we say plainly what is unknown, and we disclose that we earn a commission. A named medical reviewer will sign the pages when one is found. Errors are corrected promptly and dated.

Sources01

How do we choose sources?

Government and academic sources first, studies second, sellers last.

We prefer FDA, FTC, NIH, MedlinePlus, CDC and large cancer-center summaries for facts and cautions, and PubMed-indexed reviews for research. We state the date we read each source, because pages change. Where a source is the seller's own page, we say so and use it only for prices, terms and contacts (Sales page, forsugarreset.com).

We do not cite blogs, forums or other affiliate sites as evidence. We link at most a few sources per section so that the page can be read, and each page ends with a source list with the title, publisher and a short note on what we took from it.

Claims02

How do we handle claims about the product?

We quote sales claims in quotation marks and say what stands behind them. We do not repeat them as facts.

Claim rules we follow
RuleWhy
We never say the product treats, prevents, lowers, controls or undoes any disease or readingNo study of the product supports it, and the law forbids disease claims for supplements (FDA, Structure/Function Claims)
We never say it replaces medicineSupplements are not shown to replace diabetes care (NCCIH, Diabetes and Dietary Supplements)
We never promise results in a number of daysNo study supports a timeline (FTC, The Truth Behind Weight Loss Ads)
We quote label claims only in quotation marksSo you can find them without us endorsing them
We say when something is unknownA gap is information

These rules apply to every page, including the headlines. If you see a sentence that breaks them, tell us and we will fix it.

Evidence03

How do we weigh evidence?

A trial of the same product beats everything else. After that, trials of single ingredients, then lab and animal work, then traditional use.

Evidence levels and how we word them
LevelExampleHow we word it
Trial of the product itselfNone found for SugarResetWe say none was found
Systematic review of trials of one ingredientReviews of chromium or ginseng (Asbaghi et al. 2020)Small or mixed, with limits
Single small trialA trial of one branded extract (Ngondi et al. 2009)One small trial; cannot be generalized
Animal or lab workRat data for African mango (MSK, Irvingia gabonensis)Not shown in people
Traditional useGymnema in AyurvedaLong use is not proof

We also look at who ran a study and whether it was funded by a seller. Where a review rates the quality low, we say so. We never write that a study proves a product works.

Numbers04

How do we handle numbers and prices?

Only numbers we can source. Anything else is left out or shown as a fill-in slot.

Label figures are quoted as printed. Study figures come from the study abstract or the cited fact sheet, and we say when a number is an average with high variation. Prices come from the live sales page on the date we state, and we show no struck-through prices or savings, because we cannot confirm that a higher price was ever charged. We never guess a price.

Arithmetic we do ourselves, such as the most a blend name could weigh, is labeled as arithmetic with its assumption stated, and is never presented as a measurement of your bottle.

Reviews05

How do we treat reviews and testimonials?

We show only reviews we can match to an order, and we label each as verified. Until then the slots are empty.

The FTC's rule bans fake reviews and testimonials, including reviews that are bought, written by insiders without disclosure or suppressed when negative (FTC, Final Rule Banning Fake Reviews). We publish no star score and no count that we cannot support. We label vendor photos as vendor photos. We do not write reviews ourselves.

If a buyer is rewarded in any way for a review, the card will say so.

Medical review06

How does medical review work?

A qualified reviewer reads each page that touches health, signs it and dates it. Until one does, the field is a slot.

We think this is the right standard for pages about glucose and medicines, and we do not fake it. The reviewer checks that cautions are complete and that nothing suggests treatment. We list the reviewer's name, credentials and the date once they sign. The reviewer does not endorse the product and is not paid by commission.

Today

No reviewer has signed these pages. Read them as information from the label desk, and check with your own clinician.

Disclosure07

How do we disclose how we earn?

On every page: this is an information site for a U.S. authorized retailer, and orders placed through its links earn a commission.

Order links are marked as sponsored and not followed by search engines. The statement is in the footer and in the page header area, and the disclaimer explains it in full. We do not hide the disclosure in small print, and we do not use countdown timers, scarcity warnings or struck-through prices.

Where this site quotes a price, it says when it was read, and it points to the live checkout as the final word.

Conflicts of interest08

What is our conflict of interest, and how do we manage it?

We earn when you order, which is a conflict. We manage it with rules that make the text harder to bend toward a sale.

First, every page carries the disclosure. Second, the claim rules above bar us from using the phrases that sell best, such as promises of results or of lower readings. Third, the cautions for medicine users appear on the home page, in the footer and on the safety pages, not only in small print. Fourth, we show the number of things we do not know. Fifth, we do not use pressure tactics.

A reader can test this: pick any page and look for a sentence that says the product works. You will not find one, and you will find several that say we do not know. If you do find a sentence that breaks our rules, please send it to us, and we will correct it and thank you.

Corrections09

How do we fix mistakes?

Quickly, and with the date. Send us the page, the error and a source.

  • We check every correction against the cited source.
  • We change the text and the updated date at the top of the page.
  • We keep a note of significant changes at the bottom of the page.
  • We thank the reader and, if asked, say so publicly.

Write to the web desk at the address on the contact page. We read them all.

FAQ10

SugarReset questions people ask

Where do your facts come from?

From the label, named government and academic sources, and PubMed reviews. Each page lists them.

Do you accept payment for content?

No. We earn a commission on orders only, and we disclose it.

Is there a doctor behind these pages?

A medical reviewer slot is shown until a named reviewer signs. We do not invent one.

How do you correct errors?

We check the source, fix the text and update the date.
